Headache!

Img_3234

It's my favorite time of the year but the thought of holiday shopping has/is giving me a headache! It seems to get harder each year and despite having a list...it still isn't easy. I even meant to get most of my holiday shopping done on Black Friday but no such luck since I manage to buy shtuffs only for me. My list...I have my list of names but only a select few have actual gifts written down next to the name. So here I am, still browsing around for gift ideas and hoping to find something for those peoples. Trying to not procrastinate and shop last minute but it seems to happen every year. Good grief!!!

Plus, I need to coordinate with the Hubs around his crazy non-stop work schedule for a potential holiday photo...

Oh Christmas Tree

Hubby and I went shopping for a "real" Christmas tree this after-Thanksgiving weekend. The last three years, we bought from Don Quijote. This year...I decided to try another place and ended up at Home Depot. I also wanted to avoid crowds since I was still recovering from the previous Black Friday shopping frenzy. Personally, I'd prefer to pick my (our) tree from a tree farm or even better to harvest your own tree as seen in the movie, "Deck the Halls" (minus the crazy neighbors, of course!)

Home Depot had a good selection and within minutes, we picked our tree and loaded it on top of a shopping cart...in line to have the bottom of the tree trunk to be cut off. As excited as I was to finally get a tree, I've been slow to start decorating. Perhaps...tonight, I'll bring out the tree trimmings. So far, I've only put on the twinkling lights and we're both enjoying the wonderfully fragrant fresh pine smell!

Black Friday

Friday-After-Thanksgiving sales and it's the biggest shopping day of the year. It's a good thing I took that nap...enough to give me the boost to walk around, stand in line to get inside a store, fight the crowds, stand in line again to pay and then carry all that BAGS! I made several stops before heading home but I braved my shopping madness first and mostly at Ala Moana Center since 4am.

i survived and here's the damage to my bank account ~ Old Navy, Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Express, Aeropostale, Animation Addict, Forever 21, Shirokiya, Sears and Macy's. No shame, a bulk of that bags are for me and not holiday gifts.

Next year, I'll spend the Friday after Thankgiving sleeping off the unconscionable amount of food I've stuffed myself with the day before...

Sleep sounds good right about now! Oyasuminasai...

to shop or not to shop

Working so close to Ala Moana Shopping Center has its pros and cons. Today, instead of finding food to eat during my lunch hour, I went shopping instead. A good idea? I can't tell if shopping is a pro or con in this situation :P

I always tell myself I don't need another pair of jeans or tee-top as I'm running out of closet space but I can't pass up when a store has a SALE! My initial intention is just to browse...if I find something, great! If I don't, meh...more $$$ in the bank! Today I found a few items (some even from the children's department...) and I paid $30 for everything! I may just go back again tomorrow as one hour isn't long enough to peruse the whole store.
