It's March 3rd, Hinamatsuri (the doll festival), or Japanese Girls' Day. In Hawaii and in many other places, it's a day for families to celebrate their daughters, or in my case...daughter-in-law.

Thank you M-I-L, I love my gift! ♥♥♥

Happy Girls' Day to all girls (and women) today!

It was a beautiful sunny day today!

Spent most of the day at Kamehameha Schools for their 81st annual Ho'olaule'a and their theme this year is, E Holomua Käkou (Let Us Go Forward Together) inspired by the Hokule`a and its ongoing preparations for their world tour in 2013.

Does an apple a day really keep the doctor away?

Well, there are many benefits to eating apples. Here are a few...
1) Apples contain Vitamin C which helps to boost your immune system.
2) Apples are rich in flavonoids which are known for their antioxidant effects. Flavonoids can prevent both coronary artery disease and cardiovascular disease.
3) Apples contain phenols which have a double effect on cholesterol. It reduces bad cholesterol and produces good cholesterol.
4) Apples are also low in calories. A medium sized apple has about 70-100 calories.
5) Apples contain potassium, which is needed for regulation of water balance and muscle function.
6) Apples taste great and come in many different varieties!
