There are taller trees, I know but I like this one! Just a few days ago, I noticed its pretty pink blossoms (though you can't really see from this photo). It's quite comforting to the body and mind, as I take a deep breath, relax and exhale...before I armed our car and head up to the apartment to tend to the husband.
One day when we have our own yard...I want tall trees like this. Filled with pretty blossoms and/or delicious fruits (lychee, mangoes, DURIAN)...My first photo is the ozoni soup my husband's mom made for breakfast today. I'm told that it is a mandatory first meal offering on New Year’s Day for all, if not most Japanese families and it is supposed to bring good luck! There is no one set recipe, and the ingredients will vary and made differently by every family. The ingredients can include chicken, gobo root, kamaboko, green onion, soy sauce and mochi rice cakes. I admit I didn't like it when I tried it for the first time back in 2003 but have grown to love this healthy and delicious dish. It's not New Year's without it!!!
I also like to become more organized, get pregnant, share a photo every day for a year and hopefully take a trip or two to visit home and/or a new destination.
Hau'oli Makahiki Hou - Happy New Year and I wish you all the best in 2011. Have a good weekend everyone! :D
xoxoJust in time for the sunset and some early birds reserving their spot for the boat parade.
It's my favorite time of the year but the thought of holiday shopping has/is giving me a headache! It seems to get harder each year and despite having a list...it still isn't easy. I even meant to get most of my holiday shopping done on Black Friday but no such luck since I manage to buy shtuffs only for me. My list...I have my list of names but only a select few have actual gifts written down next to the name. So here I am, still browsing around for gift ideas and hoping to find something for those peoples. Trying to not procrastinate and shop last minute but it seems to happen every year. Good grief!!!
Plus, I need to coordinate with the Hubs around his crazy non-stop work schedule for a potential holiday photo...
